I’m no psychologist and I don’t why we do this but I do know that it’s a fact and that one can make a choice to overcome the syndrome! I attended a seminar with Dani Johnson once and she demonstrated this to us as well.

At the beginning of the seminar she asked us all to write down our names on a sticky post-it paper and to stick them as high as we possibly could on the wall.  Of course, at this point we had no idea why we were doing this. She just told us to make sure we each placed our post-it as high as we could.  It became real competitive and we were all pretty happy with our achievements.

Anyway, the seminar continued and much later in the day we came to this subject of why we don’t perform at our best first up. She then set about proving this to us and challenged us all to place a second post-it higher up the wall than our first.  It was amazing.  There was not one single person out of hundreds of us who wasn’t able to beat their first effort and most people beat it by a very long way!!

Once you are aware of this syndrome you can challenge yourself on a daily basis goal setting to perform way above normal levels.  It really is a matter of deciding to succeed and outperforming yourself!!

Goal setting and aiming high are very important but at the same time realize that success is a journey and not just a final destination.  You need to be setting mini goals and rewards for yourself all along the way.  You also need to be enjoying the journey and having FUN.  Life is for living and enjoying each and every day. By working efficiently and consistently you can achieve all your goals without sacrificing time with your family and friends and still enjoy whatever blows your hair back on a daily basis!

Dream boards of your ultimate goal are great but, to be brutally honest, looking at pictures of where you want to be is NOT going to make those dreams become a reality!  If you’re going to achieve those dreams you need to lay out what actually has to be DONE on a daily basis and DO IT!!  Consistent daily action to reach realistic targets is what will get you to your final destination. Your dream board is there to remind you to TAKE ACTION – Not Dream!!

You will be amazed at how far you get by just slowly chipping away at something.  In fact, sometimes looking at the entire challenge ahead of you makes it seem virtually impossible and you’re better off just focusing on the next little step right ahead of you!  Ask a serious mountain climber!  Firstly, you never get to the top by just staring at the summit from the bottom!  You get there by breaking it down into several legs with very careful route planning. Then each leg is further broken down into smaller climb sections.  Time goals are set to make sure you reach where you need to be by nightfall and you reward yourself with breathers, food, water and sleep along the way. While climbing, you forget the whole mountain and only focus on the small section right ahead.  As the going gets tough you end up setting your own little mini goals that might only be few meters or just one hand hold ahead.  In the end, you conquer that mountain literally one step at a time with a resolve to never, ever give up and the same goes for building your online business!

There are five so called “Secrets” to success.  They’re not really secrets, in fact, they’re more like “Common Sense!” In this article I want to highlight exactly what one needs to be focusing on in order to succeed in your online business. It’s very easy to make yourself very “busy” doing tasks that are a waste of time and are diverting you away from what needs to be DONE in order to succeed.  The reality is that, on average,  people achieve 80% of their results from 20% of their effort.  Therefore, if one can identify what is effective and focus on those activities you’re going to save 80% of wasted time!!

There are so many ways to drive traffic but the fastest and easiest method for a brand new marketer is to rent someone else’s list and start moving people from their list to yours.  The more lists you can rent the better and faster you’ll build your own list of contacts.  There are many excellent lists you can “rent” and I will point you to a place you can find many of the best ones to get started with.

Using these lists is one of the very best methods of getting highly targeted visitors to your website.  This is permission based emailing to people already working online and therefore exactly the type of people you want to network with.  The beauty of starting with list builders is that this is a method of advertising that is very easy to learn, it is very effective and produces immediate results.  For these reasons this is what I recommend as the very first marketing skill to learn for anyone starting an online business.

List Builder programs work on the basis of “I’ll look at what you’ve got if you’ll look at what I’ve got!” In essence, you are agreeing to view other marketer’s advertisements which earns you credits that then allow you to email your offers to a certain number of members every so many days. 

As you join these programs you will always be offered deals by the list owners and you must consider their offers carefully as you can build huge mailing power very cost effectively by taking advantage of their one time offers.  Typically as a free member you will only be able to mail once a week and you will earn less credits per ad view than an upgraded member.  You are going to need to spend a lot of time each day opening emails in order to build up enough credits to make a worthwhile mailing at the end of the week.  Multiply this effort 10 times if you join 10 lists and you’ll soon realize why you need to seriously consider the “One Time Offers (OTO)” as you join these lists.

What you are doing is buying and building your mailing power.  For example, you might accept a “one time offer that buys you an annual membership mailing 3,000 members every 3 days for $197.  Then check out the referral plan and work out how many referrals you need to get your money back.  Do the same thing at 10 sites and now you are mailing 30,000 people every 3 days for FREE once you have referred a certain number of people to each list builder you join.  Now that is a big targeted audience.  Join 20 sites and you’ll be driving some serious traffic to your websites!

This is the answer to the easiest, most cost effective and targetted traffic you can generate in the fastest time possible. Refine your email marketing skills working with List Builder programs and then start using SoloAds with proven subject lines and ad copy that send your prospects to a capture page that you already know works. 

Bottom line is that LIST BUILDERS are the easiest, most cost effective and fastest way of driving targetted traffic to your website but they also soon start to pose another problem that needs resolving………….

Managing multiple List Builder memberships requires a lot of work.  You need to know when you can login next and send your email depending on what frequency your membership level allows.  All sites are laid out slightly differently and may have different personalization codes so you have to concentrate and make sure you’re getting them right and not sending out email messages starting with “Hi [first_name], ……!!”  You want to join as many lists as possible in order to build your traffic and list as fast as possible and the more you join the more time consuming this becomes.
